Week 11

Monday- Maddy and I don't normally do curriculum on Mondays. We usually work with puzzles, games and other manipulatives to support curriculum learning. However, she missed a few days of school while she was in midland with my parents last week. So today we caught her up and still played some games for fun on the side. There was also gymnastics for her and we've had the Hobbit on hold for a while and it finally arrive today so that was super exciting too!

Tuesday - We're working on punctuation this week.  We also built a gingerbread house for fun.  We stayed home until their 4:30 art class which was really nice.  The library is not meeting during the month of December. Maddy has also been having her doll do work with her.  Super cute!

Wednesday- The kids had swim lessons at 9:00am today and Awana at 6:15 but other than that we were home.

Thursday - Our res life classes are on break until January so we met up with friends at the East Libary which is rather nostalgic for me as it was the library we went to when we lived on that side of town when the kids were little.  The kids also went to the kidzone at the Y after mike got out of work so we could have a little date night and the kids could play with friends.

Friday-  The kids worked on their Native American warrior arm band project.  We also went to the Fredrik Meijer Gardens and learned how different countries around the world celebrate the holiday season.  The gardens also have an amazing train display made out of natural items found in nature that is really neat.  Then we went on a horse and carriage ride which is fun because we made a horse and carriage this week in our study of Colonial times.
