week 12

Monday- We did school at home in the morning.  We stopped by our reps office to protest this morning, then went the big kids went to Art and Westin went to the YMCA kids club.  After that we went to our friends for lunch. We finished up school in the afternoon.

Tuesday- We worked on school but the big project of the day was that Caiden finished his rough draft super hero writing project.  We stopped by the homeschool building and checked out some new games. All 3 kids went to the Hoekwaters today with other kids from our small group and made Christmas cookies and cards.

Wednesday - Today was the last day of Spanish for the year.  In the morning we did mad libs and read. Caiden finished his lap for his Hamilton project.  We skipped music today and watched the Grand Rapids Ballet company Nutcracker.  The kids then had the AWANA  store.

Reading is not a requirement on Wednesday but most days I find a book in their hands.

Thursday- We woke up to the first snow fall of the year this morning.  I let the kids play outside.  When they came in we plowed through almost all of our school by 11:00.  My parents came to visit.  They got to watch the kids do gymnastics and played math games with them and watched their history video with them.  The kids also enjoyed activities related to the yesterdays performance of the nutcracker.

Friday- we only did reading math science and writing.  Most of our day we spent hiking with friends at Blanford Nature center.  When we came home we listened to Harry Potter.

Saturday - We bought a membership at Caberfae this year $99 for the season for adults and $15 for kids.

 Awesome conditions for the first ski trip of the season!

 We're teaching Westin to ski this year with a hola hop

 Both big kids are completely independent and even ride the chair lift on their own. 

Mike and I took turns with Westin.  He likes to rest more then the big kids.  They've got a great lodge for hanging out.
