week 29
Monday-The kids had track and field day at HsAP which they loved. I took Westin swimming with the Moss family while the big kids were there. After they got out of HsAP we all played in the wetlands behind out house.
Tuesday- We meet up with the Tuiningas at the library for story time but story time is on break until June. The kids still had fun reading, playing with trains, and playing checkers. I also took the kids with me to vote today. They had art school in the afternoon.
Wednesday- After the kids swim class we went to Ludema's and got the rest of the supplies for our garden. Our potted plants that we grew from seed were big enough to be transplanted. The kids love putting the plants in the soil. Caiden said "this is so magical"we rounded out the day with some family knitting.
Maddy created a rain gauge and likes measuring it to see how much rain we're getting

Friday - We talked about Cinco de Mayo today and I've been working hard with Maddy on learning her1-9 addition facts. It's been helpful to her to see what she's mastered and what she still has left to master. I ask Caiden each school day to read 1 chapter in his book has been regularly reading more. We listened to 2 chapters of Farmer Boy on tape today and Maddy had piano lessons. We also met up with 3 families at the park today.
The shaded in areas are the math facts that Maddy's mastered.
Saturday- We went to the Holland Outdoor Discovery Center today. We hiked, talked about invasive spices, observed the birds of prey, and enjoyed the visitor center. Later in the day we played strategy games like chess and Gobblet. The kids read books in the front yard with the neighbors too.
