Week 20
Monday- Today was unusual for several reasons. The first being that our friends that we do lunch with every week were out of town. So after we did school in the morning we went to art and then played at the park. We listened to a little more Treasure Island and then finished school. Then the second unusual thing was that no one had any scheduled activities in the evening. So after dinner we rode bikes to the park. We came home and put Westin to bed and played Settlers.
Tuesday- We only did reading, writing, math, and Spanish. I snuck in a history review too. Then we met friends at the public museum for science Tuesday. We've been talking about the life cycle and we added the word larva to the kids vocabulary and they talked about larva during our time with the volunteers because they were doing water bug identification. So perfect! Then we went over to the Ford museum and watched a play on Abe Lincoln. It was very good! Westin loved it and so did the big kids! We came home rested and then met Mike at the Fredrik Meijer Gardens for dinner and night time butterfly viewing. It's always fun to be at the gardens at night!
Wednesday- Today was a screen free day, which I love. I didn't declare it as such it just happened. The kids made a fort in the living room in the morning. Then went to Spanish and music. We've been having unusually warm weather these last few days so we met friends at the park. We came home and the kids worked on their potato pets and Awana verses and then it was time for Awana.
Thursday- The kids did school at home then went to gymnastics then open gym. 3 hours of gymnastics really wears them out. So we had a nice low key evening at home. Maddy cleaned out her spanish backpack and I love how the teacher incorporates other subjects in with spanish.
Friday- We had a chill day at home then we went out to once upon a child for free books, then skyzone with free library passes, then to Long John Silver as we are reading Treasure Island right now.
