week 8
Sunday
After church we took the kids to the downtown library for Dia De Los Meurtos. We got our faces painted, we got to hear some authentic Mexican music, we had some mexican food, and did some crafts. It's a fun way to experience Mexican culture.
We continued our history lesson on the Indus Valley people. We talked about the stamps that they had and created our own. They kids liked the stamp activity. We continued our lessons on the respiratory system. The kids worked on their Monday writing project. They write the thing they liked best from the previous week and I print a picture to go with it. They did math, typing, spelling, vocabulary, Spanish, and practiced their instruments. Caiden had his Math club at Calvin and I took the littles to woodland mall.
The kids had Spanish in the morning which was wonderful because I have been sick. I took a nap and felt a lot better. We went bowling with friends after class. The kids had fun and I had the best score on the mom's lane.
Maddy had band and choir in the morning. Westin and I snuggled up on the couch and did a reading lesson together while Caiden did some reading in his room. Then we went to Caiden's guitar lessons and picked up Maddy. The kids had lunch then our friend Angie picked up the kids and took them to homeschool classes at the air zoo. This month's theme was World War 2 aviation and the science of flight. The kids got home with just enough time for dinner and then they headed out the door for Wednesday night church. It was a full day.
Thursday
We had a quite morning at home. We had the first real snow fall this week, so the kids were exited to get outside and play in the snow. We talked about the Vedas and Sanskrit today in history. Sanskrit sounds a lot like sand script so we wrote words using glue and sand today. We tackled all our subjects then the kids went to gymnastics class. After class we met friends at Peach Wave for no weight Thursday. We had a fun night at home playing games together.

Friday
Today was Maddy's birthday. So we didn't do all our normal school. We started the day with Maddy opening up her presents at 7:00. I went back to bed and the kids got have some screen time, a special birthday treat. We then wrapped up our respiratory unit with a hands on project. We made the respiratory system out of candy. The kids also did their reading and thanksgiving writing project. Then in the afternoon we went to sky zone. They are doing a donate can goods for free jump time promo right now. So the kids are very excited to go. We met up with about 10 other homeschool families. It was a lot of fun. Maddy had a lock in at the Awana church in the evening.

Saturday
We celebrated Maddy's birthday today. I picked her up at the Awana church and she came home and slept for a few hours. Then we drove her and her friends to her old horse stable in Allegen. They had a lot of fun riding and decorating the horses. Mike took Caiden to the Allegan library.
