Week 11 December 6
Monday
Battle of the books is in full swing. Maddy is reading through the books the fastest. We have our first meeting next week. Westin seems to be enjoying his December school. I printed off some Christmas themed writing assignments for him and we have lots for Christmas read aloud picture books we’ve been enjoying. The older two have too much work to get special themed work this year.
Our science lesson today was on Newton’s laws of motion. We started our history unit on China. The kids are all doing a great job on keeping up with their Awana work. Westin had swim lessons right before lunch. In the evening we enjoyed watching the lights synced to music in our neighborhood.
Tuesday
Westin and I played Carcassone. It’s his favorite game these days. The kids did writing and math the were off to Spanish. After class we met up with friends at the new lego store. Caiden had robotics in the evening.
Wednesday
The kids kicked butt at school and Caiden had a dentist appointment. When they were finished with them both they begged me to take them sledding. There was just a small bit of snow but they had a blast and we ran into other friends sledding too. After dinner the older two had youth group and Caiden’s group went Christmas Caroling.
Thursday
We played games a got lots of work done. Today was the big kids last day of IEW for the semester. Their class has really improved their writing. Westin did his school in his ninja custom today. The younger kids helped me dig out all the ski equipment while Caiden was at robotics. We are up grading everyone’s skis this weekend.
Friday
Today was unusual. I basically threw out all the plans I had for school. This is the first time I did something like this. We were just so behind in so many areas. I took the kids to the library to do some battle of the books leg work. Next we went to once upon a child. Maddy needed new jeans and I ended up getting everyone a Christmas outfit. I picked up little Caesars for lunch. We then went to Walmart to get everyone tall socks for skiing. We got home and I had everyone do Spanish and then I took Maddy to her riding lessons. She went home with the Douglass girls.
