week 8

Caiden had his first robotics tournament of the year this weekend.  If was local at the East Kentwood Freshman campus.  They had a rough early start the day but ended up doing well enough to earn a spot at the state tournament.  Caiden is the drive coach and counties to excel in robotics and leadership.

Monday - Today we talked about plate tectonics in science.  We've had a wonderfully warm fall and Caiden is working on getting some strength back after being on crutches.  We took a bike ride and did some good stretching.  We also did yoga in the evening.  Tomorrow is Maddy's birthday so today was her last day with kid rules.  We enjoyed playing several games in between subjects today.  We talked about the Hopi people in history today and Westin did his first multiplication lesson in math.

Thursday- Today the kids had Grace and I enjoyed a quite 3 hours of cleaning and catching up on things at home.  After Grace Westin had a soccer game and then we went to Zeeland to see the twin's swim meet.  We brought Julia home and she had a sleep over.  Caiden had robotics in the evening too.

Friday-  Our November schedule is a little crazy and we had no weekends free.  We wanted to do something form Maddy for her birthday with her friends and it just so turned out that her friends had today off of school but all had afternoon commitments.  So we had her party at 9:00am at the Happy Cat Cafe.  all the kids had a blast and we were home by 11:00.  The kids still had plenty of time to get all their school done.  It was the perfect fit for all the full schedules.
