week 6
Monday - We got a good bit of school done in the morning. Then the kids had art school and we met with friends in the park after class. We are continuing our study with lemons and will try to grow our own lemon tree from seeds from the store. Mike had hockey tonight so the kids and I played sequence in the evening.
Tuesday - Ah! Tuesday is like a little oasis for us in the dessert of busyness. We stayed home today and it was great. Caiden read extra chapters in his book. The kids painted and played with playdough and we felt relaxed and unhurried. After Mike got home the big kids and I went to their monthly rock and mineral meeting. It was silent auction night which was really cool! The kids loved putting their bids in and won some cool rocks. They also got a scavenger hunt list identifying metallic and non metallic rocks which will help get them ready for next month.
Wednesday- We continue to not do curriculum on Wednesday and it has been an amazing decision. the kids help we clean the house. We then leave at 10:00 for lingual learners and straight to music lessons after. We come home and listen to book on tape then prepare for Awana.
Caught Westin playing with Caiden this morning.

Thursday- Today we did a full day of school and played a game of clue. We then went to gymnastics. Then they finished up school. We dropped Maddy off at Civic Theater school and I took the boys to the children's museum. Mike picked up the boys and took them to soccer. When Maddy was done I took her to a fundraiser event for a local organization that works with refuges. She got to eat Ethiopian food and see Rwandan dancers.

Friday- We took the morning off. We left at 9:30 to a farm in Marne for a field trip with the kids lingual learning group. They picked apples then went on a farm tour in Spanish. The teacher read several books, they did a scavenger hunt, and played a game all in Spanish. Since their program is a drop off program this was the first time I got to see them working with their teacher. She was amazing and the kids did an awesome job problem solving.
We got home around 2:30. we watched a documentary on Andrew Jackson. Did some writing, math and and made our end of the week poster on the Indian Removal Act.
