week 23
Sunday
We bought a Panzer tank model a few days about and today we finished it. It was a fun way to finish our world war 2 unit. Westin especially loves it.
Monday
This is spring break week in our neighborhood. The kids don't have their normal classes. We are still doing math, history, Spanish and reading this week but were taking a break from other subjects to do some special activities. During this week I am also working with the kids on their cooking skills. Each night one of the big kids will have to help me make dinner. Today our special activity was a visit to the Kalamazoo nature center with the Douglas family. We all love visiting this place but it's so far away (40 minutes) it makes it a little tricky to frequent as much as we'd like. I love outdoor exploration! It's so fun to see their imaginations run.
Thursday
The kids did math and history in the morning. Then played with neighbors. Caiden had gymnastics and then the enjoyed an evening at home with Mike while I was at my workout class. This was day 4 of helping mom in the kitchen and by now this had lost it's charm. Maddy was not very excited to be helping out today.

Tuesday
We tackled school then met Mia and her boys at the library for story time in the morning. In the afternoon we had the Douglas girls over for a baking competition. The kids had to bake somthing with 0 help from the moms. During this week of Spring Break I'm focusing on the kids learning to cook. Each day one of the kids have to help me make dinner from start to finish. Today all 3 helped me cut up vegetables.

Wednesday
Today the kids did their math and history at home. Then we had a field trip lined up to see the Aero Med unit. I'm apart of a facebook field trip group. After the Aeromed we went to Bagger Dave's for lunch. They have cheap kids meals on Wednesday and were close to the airport. Then we used our free open swim pass for a family swim at Gold Fish swim school.

Friday
The kids did History and Math then Maddy helped me prep dinner. She had a much better attitude about helping in the kitchen today. Then after lunch she had horse lessons. They got to trot today and she was very excited about that. It was my turn to drive so the boys and I played games at a coffee shop near her lessons.
