week 24

Monday
They kids worked really hard to get their school done before we left for the Air Zoo.  They worked on it while Westin had his YMCA sports sampler class.  After Westin's class we spent over 4 hours at the air zoo.  We had an amazing docent who taught has a ton of things.

Wednesday
The big kids went to Camp Roger.  I took Westin to the library for story time and then we went out for lunch together.  When the big kids came home we took it easy then they had a 3 hour hunter safety coarse in the evening with Mike while Westin and I stayed home and baked cookies.

Thursday
We drove for about an hour and spent the day at the USS Silversides museum.  I set up a field trip.  We started with a private class on the history and explanation of how a sub works.  Then we got a private tour of the sub.  Next we had a science class on buoyancy and the kids got to build their own sub.  We then spent the rest of our time looking at the museum, playing life size battleship, and exploring a Cutter 1920's coast guard ship.

Friday
Maddy had her horse riding class and we drove again.  While she was at class the boys and I went to the Allegan library.  They just finished their remodel and it is a beautiful library.  We then met Mike for dinner at a 1950's restaurant since we've been studying the 1950's in history.

Saturday
The big kids had their hunters safety class from 8:00- 2:00.  Both kids past.  They had to take a test with filling in bubbles.  It was the first time they ever took a test like this.  It was good practice for their upcoming Iowa Basics test.
