week 2

Monday -

We had a lovely slow morning. Westin cuddled up on the couch and did his writing work from there. When the big kids woke up we watched a crash course science video on plant cells. We also watched a video on how the Birch tree was important to the Ojibway. They mentioned how after working with the bark it was tradition to have hot chocolate so we did just that. We had leftover brownies from our game night with our friends the Bibers from the night before and enjoyed a lovely warm cup of hot coco. After dinner we played a game and found out one of our favorite National Geographic shows has a new season. We are learning more about the natural habitats in Laos on Primal Survivor.

Tuesday -

We finished up all our school by lunch time then we headed out to Post Family Farms. I had organized a field trip with our co-op grace. The kids enjoyed a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and picked out a pumpkin. They also liked getting cider and donuts and playing on all the fall fun stuff. After we got home Caiden had robotics and Maddy painted her pumpkin while I read to Westin.

Wednesday-

We got our school finished and then at 2:00 we left for running club. I then took Caiden to a physical Therapy appointment. The PT referred us to an orthopedic and then we got x-rays. We found out that Caiden has a stress fracture in his hip. He wanted to still go to youth group so it was a long day.

Thursday -

All 3 kids left at 8:40 for their classes at Grace. I came home and got alot of stuff done around the house. I picked up Westin at 12:30 and then we went to soccer. Caiden and Mike had robotics in the evening and Maddy, Westin, and I had fun at home.

Friday -

We did Math and spelling today then headed out at 9:45. The kids had a science class at the Van Andel educational institute. Their 3 hour class was on newtons laws of motion. They also got a chance to see the Van Andel research institute and meet scientists. Maddy worked on an art project in the evening and we had a bonefire with our neighbors after dinner.
