week 5

 Monday 

We wrapped up our science unit on the cell today.  We talked about DNA and made our own double helix out of marshmallows.  We have been studying native Americans in history.  It was raining off and on today but we decided to have running club.  We all got wet and the rain was defiantly not done,

Tuesday -

Today was absolutely magical day.  We did no school at home.  We went to the Van Andel educational institute to do a field trip. We compared plants and animals as whole organisms, we then compared plant and animals at the cell level, and then at the DNA level.  We ate our packed lunch there then we went to the art museum.  They have a Jim Hensen exhibit right now that was really fun. We came home and had dinner then Caiden had Robotics in the evening.

Wednesday - We tackled school at home then had running club in the afternoon.  Caiden is still on crutches and Maddy was down with a cold so it was just Westin and I.  After running club we headed to church.  When we got home it was time for bed.

Thursday - The kids had Grace in the morning and I was able to tackle 3 1/2 hours of work at home.   It never feels like enough time.  The kids got to have pizza at Grace.  They do that a few times a year. The kids loved it.  I picked up Westin for soccer then ran the big kids home and back to ref and get Westin. In the evening Caiden had robotics and I took a work out class with Angie.

Our friends invited us to the zoo for the Zoo goes Boo.  We got there and they weren't there.  Their passes weren't good for the event.  We decided to stay.  We enjoyed seeing the zoo all decorated and the kids got some candy too.  We then went to the fish ladder and had lunch.  We came home and finished up school.  We enjoyed some rest time in the afternoon then after dinner we played with neighboors and enjoyed a soak in the hot tub.
