Week 16

Sunday
Today we went to church and then spent the afternoon playing games.  Westin played his first of settlers today.  After game time the kids went to Awana and Mike and I enjoyed a dinner out with friends.  Then we put the kids to bed. I woke up Caiden at 11:30 to see the blood moon eclipse.

Monday
We tackled a good chunk of school in the morning.  Westin had his preschool sports class today at the Y and the big kids and I enjoyed working out while he was in class.  Mike played some games with the kids in the evening.

Tuesday
The kids went to Spanish and I took the van to get some work done at the dealership.  After spanish we spent the afternoon at the Children's Museum with friends.  We came home and watched Cinderella Man.  In the evening Maddy had her American Girl doll party.  The party was based on Felicity a girl from Colonial times.  Maddy wore her new dress and enjoyed the crafts, snack, doll parade and speaker.

Wednesday
Maddy had her first lesson on division today.  The snow was finally sticky enough to make snow men.  We enjoyed some good fresh air.  In the evening we tried a new escape room game.

Thursday
We woke up and drove to Midland and unpacked at my parents house.  My brother's l
kids had a half day. We all ate lunch together then played several board games.  After dinner we went swimming.  I find it odd that with all the fun things we did today I took no pictures.  Guess we were into the moment.

Friday
We woke up Friday morning and drove to Frankenmuth from my parents. I set up a field trip with a homeschool facebook group. My brother and his kids had the day off of school so they joined us.  We started at the Baveriann Inn.  We had a 3 course lunch at the Baverian Inn and then a man came in and talked about the cow bells in Germany and taught the kids how to play them.  Maddy and Westin both got picked to play the bells for the group.  He then taught us a traditional German song and played the accordion.
After lunch we went to another room and learned the history of the pretzel and made our own.  We then walked around Ice Fest and enjoyed the ice and snow sculptures.  The kids also enjoyed picking out cheese from the cheese haus and the children's area.  They were able to ride horses and feed camels.  When we were done we got to go back to the bakery and eat the pretzels we made.
