week 17

Monday
There's been a bad winter storm and Westin's YMAC class and Maddy's sewing class was cancelled for today.  Westin is working on the letter S today.  The big kids wrapped up their science unit on the cell.  In history we're continuing our work with the great depression.  Caiden finished his 2nd Harry Potter book today so we watched the movie to celebrate.  I started Maddy on a reading comprehension book today and she's really enjoying it.  The kids enjoyed some outside play time too.

Tuesday
The kids spanish class got cancelled today because of snow.  This turned out to be the perfect time to work on our edible cell project.  We had just finished up our cell unit so this snow day came at a perfect time.  They had a lot of fun with it and it really helped review the organelles. They also wrote their mock bills for their up coming mock government group. We worked on out math and in the evening we had family art night.

Wednesday
Although Wednesday is usually an at home day anyway it was -30 with wind chill factor today so we couldn't play outside.  We did however clean and get lots of school done.  Westin enjoyed it when I brought some snow in for him to play with.

Thursday 

We had a good day at home and after lunch Caiden had gymnastics while I took Maddy and Westin grocery shopping.  We finished up school and then met some friends at the roller rink. 

Friday 

Caiden's Tinker create came in today.  Caiden enjoyed is kit. We worked on school and then had friends over for dinner.
